The stunning Greek island of Mykonos has a reputation for being one the most LGBT friendly islands in the world! The number one reason? The gay beaches!
Here’s our top three beaches that are a must visit if you’re flying to Mykonos this Summer…
- Super Paradise Beach
There’s a reason why this beautiful golden sand beach has ‘Paradise’ in its name, and boy does it live up to it. Considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, Super Paradise Beach is right next to Paradise Beach, reachable by taxi-boat and local bus. With its crystalline waters and super soft sand it’s no wonder it attracts holidaymakers from all over the world.
Super Paradise is also one of the world’s most famous LGBT beaches and was once almost exclusively gay. Today, the beach is hugely popular with both gay and straight holidaymakers and clubbers.
Places to go
JackieO’s Beach Club – located on the right hand side of the beach is the exclusively gay beach club JackieO’s.
The Super Paradise Club – located on the left hand side of the beach. The Super Paradise Club also becomes a party venue from around 4pm to late every evening.
Pink Beach – located in the middle of the beach is the classy champagne bar, restaurant and beach cub, Pink Beach.
- Sun loungers and shades are available for rent, a waiter service is available offering drinks and light snacks.
- Due to its popularity, Super Paradise Beach can get very crowded during peak season and usually gets full from lunchtime so arrive early!
One of the largest beaches on Mykonos island, Elia beach is the most LGBT friendly and popular area on the island. This gorgeous sandy beach is well looked after with its many good quality sun beds and shades for rent.
Turn right as you head towards the beach and you will see a rainbow flag, this area gets increasingly popular with the LGBT community.
Towards the end of the beach well beyond the rainbow flag past a rocky outcrop is a second hidden beach that is almost entirely for the LGBT community with some nudism.
- Sun beds and shades are available for rent with a fantastic waiter service.
- We recommend the Arte & Mare Resort for food and drinks.
- Arrive in the morning when it’s not very busy to secure a choice sunbed.
For those looking for a more relaxed, quieter beach experience Agrari is the place for you. Located about a 5-minute walk from Elia beach , Agrari attracts members of the LGBT community who are looking for some peace and quiet.
This stunning golden sand beach is perfect for swimming and water-sports, with its easy atmosphere, cafeterias, restaurants and in some places free Wi-Fi, Agrari ticks all the boxes.
The beach also has plenty of sun beds and sun shades, a lifeguard and a fantastic beach restaurant and is far less crowded than Super Paradise and Elia.
