It’s festival season and as soon as spring pops, the music festivals at home and abroad warm up their instruments and get ready for another fantastic summer of sound!

As we all know the great British summer isn’t exactly reliable, so instead of packing your wellies and poncho for your favourite music festival in blighty – try some of our top picks in Europe instead!

Four days in the beautiful mountains in Bulgaria, what could be better than that?  Taking place 850 metres above sea level – this festival is less about the big-name headliners and more about the breathtaking views. Expect sunrise DJ sets as well as unusual activities such as yoga, mingling with the villagers and a pool party in a spa.

Soundwave, Spilt, Croatia

As one of the longest running events in the Adriatic region – along with The Garden Festival and Outlook –  Soundwave has stayed true to its original roots, diverse music and a holiday and festival atmosphere all in one weekend.  Widely regarded as one of Europe’s finest events, celebrating a decade of festivals in its home of Tisno.

 

 

Oasis Festival, Marrakech, Morocco

The Oasis Festival is a house and techno fans dream music festival! taking place in a sun-soaked hideaway.  Morocco is a Muslim country so make sure you respect that and wait until you reach the Oasis grounds to start the party.  Oasis is fantastic fun! with loads of bars, spas, a hookah lounge and DJs galore.

Annie Mac Presents Lost & Found, Malta

This queen of the mash-up leads her loyal subjects to the Maltese coast for some fun in the Mediterranean sun. AMP parties are legendary for their outstanding line-ups and Lost & Found does not disappoint. Expect to see the best house, techno, grime and bass DJs at castle raves, pool parties, in boats and at the Hidden Nighttime Arena.

Sónar, Barcelona, Spain

Line-up: Diplo, Bicep, Thom Yorke, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, A-Trak, Helena Hauff, Bonobo.

For three days in June, over 100,000 people flock to Barcelona as Sónar takes over venues across the city. Expect dance music, electronic music and digital culture in the heart of Barcelona.  The event also includes a digital creative conference for industry insiders, and night-long parties.

NOS Summer Opening 2018, Funchal, Madeira

NOS Summer Opening is a music festival in Funchal, on the island of Madeira. As the name suggests, the festival marks the arrival of the summer season with a lineup of soul, reggae, funk, samba and hiphop artists performing in the picturesque Funchal.
