Flying can be fun but if you’ve applied the wrong products on your face your skin can suffer half way through the flight.
When you qualify for Cabin Crew you don’t realise how dry your skin can get from the aircon and how the wrong foundation can make your skin go oily within an hour.
So today I bring to you my tested and cabin crew approved makeup routine!
First of all don’t forget to moisturise your skin and drink 2 litres of water a day.
Before applying makeup I always make sure to wipe my face, I use ‘Simple Water Boost Hydrating Face Cleansing Wipe’. This clears any dead cells on my face.
Your foundation is the most important product in your makeup bag. Do your research and invest in a good foundation that will keep your skin looking amazing and moisturised .
I currently use the new ‘ Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation 450″ so far this product hasn’t let me down and my skin looks flawless even after a 16 hour day.
Concealer is needed especially when you have a busy flight schedule. I use three different ones to get the result I need but for some people one is just fine.
This step brightens your under eye and makes you look awake, even on those night flights LOL!
Time to bake and I’m not talking cupcakes, but bake and set in that under eye concealer! This guarantees your makeup stays in place.
Plenty of brands do loose powders and finishing powders, some are more expensive than others however I have found a cheap and cheerful alternative:
The ‘revolution luxury powder‘ for £5. I apply the desired amount and leave for 5 minutes.
Eyebrows & Lashes
Alright here is where the debates starts, I do mine after foundation while some do them before. Let’s just agree to disagree, as long as you’re doing them you will look fab.
Eyebrows; I use The Collection eyeliner to add some definition and then go over them with a brown pencil. For lashes I use the Miss Sporty Lash mascara and the Mavala Lash serum to keep them looking full and long.
I can’t get enough of the MAC Ruby woo lipstick and Kiko gloss combo, it lasts for a whole flight and I rarely need to top it up during a flight. Lips do get quite dry in the air so I use my Shea Me Lip balm daily and apply gloss if I’m not in the mood for lipstick, this is easy on the lips and keeps them looking lush during services.
Finishing touches. I use the MAC powder to finish off my look and the holy grail of setting spray products by Urban Decay ‘the all nighter’ – 80% of my cabin crew friends use this and I can vouch for it. I genuinely don’t know what I’d do if I run out!
And now you’re all set and ready to go.
Enjoy your flight!
