greece beach

  • Nicolette Meyer says:

I am looking for somewhere easily accessible by public transport or cheap taxis that is reasonably flat as I have mobility problems. Must be at least 25c, not too expensive and wish to travel outside the school holidays. Must have sandy beach with loungers as I can’t get up from floor unaided. My interests include flora/fauna and staying warm! Does anybody have any suggestions please? (Not long haul at this time of year – that is for escaping horrible British Winters!)
    Thank you

    • Hi Niki, Gran Canaria/Lanzarote in July and September has average temperatures of over 25 degrees, which is a nice temperature to relax on a beach! Gran Canaria has a good public bus transport system, and the taxis are always equipped with a taximeter so you can always see what price you’re paying.

Alternatively, we have excellent prices in Turkey, Antalya averages 28 degrees in July and 25 in Sept. Antalya offers a large bus network, and they also have a tram system. I’ve had a look Balearics, Cyprus & Croatia but the temperatures aren’t quite as high, and in Malta, although it has a lovely temperature in July, a few of our hotels are built on hills and have steps, so you may not have as much choice here. I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration.
